Estimates and pricing

The book configurator displays a one-time USD purchase price for the selected scope, not a deposit or a guarantee of unlimited work. The server recalculates that price before Stripe checkout. Your paid order retains its purchased scope and price even if the public rate card later changes. Out-of-scope work requires a separate price and your affirmative written approval; it is never charged automatically. Existing signed engagements retain their agreed terms.

Pay-now book projects and the $149 written brief

Book projects use AI research, drafting or illustration as appropriate, followed by Darius F. Sanders's personal review. They are not promised to be wholly human-written or hand-illustrated. Picture-book packages include the stated story, illustration count and digital paperback files in the selected trim; long-form packages include the stated manuscript length, outline, editable DOCX and reading PDF. Long-form cover design, retail EPUB/print formatting, physical copies, ISBN purchases, retailer uploads and marketing are separate unless explicitly included in your paid scope. No live consultation is required; necessary clarification is handled by email. Standard checkout is for English-language work.

The $149 written brief is an optional planning deliverable, not a prerequisite to buying a book. It includes a written scope recommendation and one written clarification, with a target of three business days after usable information arrives. Its $149 credit toward a book is available for 12 months; arrange the credit with the studio before buying the book, because checkout does not automatically apply it. The $499 Blueprint remains a separate, optional plan with a recorded walkthrough.

Target production times after complete materials and the production-start email are 3–4 weeks for picture books, 6–10 weeks for other manuscripts, and 8–12 weeks for research-heavy work. Missing information and client review delays pause the schedule. These are targets, not guaranteed rush deadlines. A qualifying private audio proof may be offered for orders of at least $1,500 and manuscripts of at least 15,000 words, subject to voice-model commercial permission and availability; it is not currently a guaranteed deliverable or a retail audiobook.

Book-project cancellations and revisions

Long-form orders placed under the September 20, 2026 scope include outline and sample-chapter approval by email before the full draft, with one consolidated direction adjustment before approval. Optional publishing files are retail EPUB ($199), paperback interior PDF ($249), or both ($399), plus $100 for formatting 51,000–60,000 words. These are simple prose layouts; paperback uses black ink, white paper, no bleed and one selected 5.5×8.5 or 6×9 trim. Selected visuals are placed in purchased formats; otherwise visuals arrive separately with a placement guide. Optional finished ebook and paperback cover design is $299, with supplied final back-cover copy or a blank back and one correction round. Paper/printer details and final pagination must be confirmed before wrap assembly. Selected production files target an additional 1–2 weeks after manuscript approval.

Optional category-specific visuals are five simple diagrams ($250), five chapter-opening illustrations in one art direction ($225), a memoir section of up to 12 authorized supplied photos and supplied captions with basic crop/tonal cleanup ($249), one fictional map of one region with up to 10 supplied place names ($149), three fictional character portraits ($149), or simple sourced research figures ($95 each, up to six). Photo output is black-and-white; optional light restoration costs $35 per photo, up to six. Severe damage, colorization, complex diagrams, new data collection and expert peer review are excluded and require separately agreed scope. Production assets include one consolidated correction round; studio errors are corrected without consuming a round.

Long-form hardcover adaptation costs $199 in addition to a purchased paperback interior and finished cover. It adapts the same design, selected trim and black-ink/white-paper interior to one named printer (KDP or IngramSpark), with a case-laminate cover and no dust jacket. Files are printer-specific, not universal. Final pagination, binding, paper and the printer template must be checked before adaptation; word count does not guarantee eligibility. KDP hardcover requires 75–550 final pages. If incompatible, the client may approve a suitable printer or receive a refund of the unperformed $199 adaptation even if other manuscript milestones are complete. We do not insert filler pages to qualify. Physical copies, ISBN purchase, shipping and retailer setup are excluded. Existing paid orders retain their frozen scope and price.

For pay-now book projects, request a full refund before the production-start email is sent. After that, you may still cancel: only the last completed milestone is earned—20% after source review and delivery of the production brief, 80% cumulatively after delivery of a complete first proof, and 100% after final files are delivered. If you cancel between milestones, the unearned balance is refunded to the original payment method. If the studio declines an order, all unearned amounts are refunded. For the $149 brief, the fee is earned when the written brief is delivered; cancellation before delivery receives a full refund. Bank processing times vary. Nothing here limits nonwaivable consumer rights. Existing production-service and Blueprint rules below apply to those separate products.

The included revision count is shown before purchase. Submit consolidated feedback within 14 days of each proof; contact us if you need longer. Fixes for studio errors or failure to meet the approved scope do not consume a revision. A replacement manuscript, new creative direction, additional people or illustrations, changed trim, added length, or extra revision rounds require written approval of any added price and time. A correction request does not itself authorize a charge.

New picture-book orders offer Classic ($895, two included characters), Illustrated ($1,450, three), and Signature ($1,950, four and a written storyboard for approval), before selected extras. Choose 8.5×8.5 or 8.5×11 before composition. A character sheet and sample spread are approved before the remaining illustrations are completed. Paperback files use KDP premium color on white paper. The optional $199 hardcover-files add-on uses the same trim and art for IngramSpark premium color on 70lb white paper, case-laminate binding; it excludes dust jackets, printing, shipping, ISBN purchase and retailer setup. A 32-page picture book cannot use KDP hardcover. Published KDP and IngramSpark specifications apply. Changed printer or trim requirements need a separately agreed scope. Existing paid orders retain their purchased price and deliverables.

Materials, photographs, and safe submissions

You must be 18 or older and authorized to place the order. You retain your supplied materials and grant the studio a limited license to access, copy, modify and process them with the disclosed providers only to fulfill, support and secure your order. You must own or license each manuscript and photograph. Appearing in a photo does not mean you own its copyright. Obtain permission for identifiable people's requested use and written parent or legal-guardian consent for anyone under 18. We do not use your work or likeness in marketing or public samples without separate written permission. Do not request impersonation, unauthorized commercial likenesses, defamatory content, or infringement of third-party rights.

Standard checkout is not designed for protected health information and does not create a HIPAA business-associate relationship. Do not submit medical records, patient-identifiable stories, identifying patient images, account credentials or other sensitive records. Research services check the stated sources; they are not professional medical, legal, investment, or scientific peer review. Expert review, where needed, is your responsibility unless separately agreed.

Fixed-price production orders

Fixed-price cover, EPUB, formatting, and PDF offers have the eligibility and correction limits shown on their service pages. Fixed-price interior services require English-language source content. Checkout is processed by Stripe for Vivid Resources LLC, Book Made Real's parent company; a card may show WI FILINGS* BOOKMADE. Source files are provided through customer-controlled HTTPS Google Drive or Dropbox links. By providing a manuscript, artwork, reference, or other material, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it for the requested production work. If a source is non-English-language, DRM-protected, scanned, fixed-layout, longer than the stated limit, or contains complexity outside the published scope, the studio may decline the order.

For studio-operated and human-checked fixed-price services, work starts when the studio emails confirmation that the order has entered production. For manual orders, the studio reviews eligibility and confirms the production timeline before work starts. You may request a full refund before work starts, and you receive a full refund if the studio declines the order before work starts.

When automatic $49 concepts are available, verified payment is followed by a production email; work starts when that email is accepted for sending, not when you return from checkout. The same full-refund-before-work-starts rule applies. Three initial front-only concepts and up to two same-brief preference refinements are included. Technical errors do not spend preference credits. These PNG concepts have no personal design review and are not retail-ready ebook covers or print-ready wraps. Text-only briefs are accepted; reference-dependent work needs separate studio scoping before payment. Exceptions have a studio review target of 24 hours from escalation, not a resolution guarantee. Automatic availability is checked before payment; temporary unavailability does not silently become a manual paid concept order. This describes the conditional service flow, not continuous operation or a promise that automation is active. Private order access lasts 180 days and is revoked on refund or cancellation.

Automatic products are not sold until their production connection is enabled. Human-checked products are performed by Darius F. Sanders using professional production software and, where useful, ChatGPT tools, followed by his own quality check. “Human-finished” does not promise all-human artwork or an original human-made draft, and no copyright exclusivity is promised for client-supplied or AI-generated artwork.

One book, one 8–10 second concept including the end card, delivered as horizontal 16:9 and vertical 9:16 MP4s at a minimum of 720p, with readable title and author, a purchase prompt, licensed music or silent delivery, two consolidated same-brief revision rounds, and personal quality review. AI-assisted visual production is part of the process; this is not wholly human animation or unattended instant fulfillment. Source project files, voiceover, live filming, lip-synced dialogue, exact likeness or character replication, complex multi-scene animation, extra concepts, longer trailers, ad placement and ad spend are excluded. Requests outside this scope need a written agreement before payment; they never authorize extra charges automatically.

The first-proof target is seven business days after complete usable materials and the production-start email. Supply a final authorized cover, short book summary, exact title and author, direction and a public purchase or landing-page URL. Missing materials and customer feedback delays pause the schedule. The studio checks tool and asset commercial-use permissions before delivery and supplies a license summary for the agreed author-site, organic social and paid online advertising uses. Third-party licenses still apply; AI-only elements are not promised to be exclusive. Do not supply music or likenesses you cannot authorize. Portfolio publication needs separate permission. Platform approval, sales and advertising returns are not guaranteed.

Video cancellation: a full refund is available before the production-start email, including when the studio declines before starting. After work starts, 50% is earned upon delivery of the first proof and 100% upon delivery of final files. Cancellation returns the unearned balance to the original payment method. Submit consolidated feedback within 14 days of each proof, or ask for more time. Corrections of studio errors or failure to meet the agreed scope do not consume preference revisions. Nonwaivable consumer rights are not limited.

The $499 Book Blueprint

The Blueprint may be purchased through this site (checkout is processed by Stripe under Vivid Resources LLC, Book Made Real's parent company) or requested through the contact form. It is delivered asynchronously: a written Blueprint plus a recorded walkthrough, within seven business days of your completed intake, with one revision pass included. It includes review of your intake, outline or synopsis, and a representative sample of any manuscript you share; a full-manuscript assessment, where needed, is recommended separately. Full refund any time before work begins — and work begins when the studio emails confirmation that your completed intake has entered production. After delivery the fee stands — you'll have the work in hand. The $499 is credited toward your project if we proceed within 12 months, and the Blueprint document is yours either way.

Your book, your rights

You retain your source material, author credit and royalties. After full payment, you may use the final commissioned deliverables commercially to the extent of the rights the studio owns or can license. Any transfer of transferable copyright in the studio's human-authored contributions is documented in a studio-signed delivery agreement. It excludes pre-existing tools and templates, third-party licensed assets, and rights that do not exist or cannot be transferred. Purely AI-generated elements may not be copyrightable, unique or exclusive; no exclusivity is promised for those elements. Third-party assets remain subject to their licenses. If publishing setup is purchased, accounts are created in your name.

The studio identifies delivered elements it knows were AI-generated so retailer disclosures can be accurate. KDP distinguishes AI-generated text or images (including after substantial human editing) from human-created material merely assisted by AI. When you upload, you are responsible for the required disclosure; if the studio uploads for you under a separate service, it makes the applicable disclosure from the information available. No retailer acceptance or copyright registration is guaranteed.

No outcome guarantees

We commit to the quality of the work. We do not — and no honest studio can — guarantee sales figures, bestseller placement, review outcomes, or acceptance by any retailer or publisher.

Book excerpts, cover art, and text on this site are copyrighted by their author. The free tools on this site are provided as-is; third-party services they link to (such as ChatGPT or Amazon) have their own terms and pricing, which can change without notice to us.
