Book Cover
Generator.
Describe your book below. This tool typesets your details into two professional cover-design prompts — front cover and KDP-ready back cover — shows you what AI image generation actually costs, and opens the prompt directly in ChatGPT with one click. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us.
1 — Fill in the form. 2 — Copy the front prompt into ChatGPT (or click Open in ChatGPT; the free tier includes image generation with daily limits). 3 — In the same chat, paste the back-cover prompt so the design stays consistent. 4 — Iterate: "make the title larger," "darker sky," "more thumbnail contrast."
ChatGPT Free: $0 — image generation included with daily limits. ChatGPT Plus: $20/mo for higher limits. OpenAI API (gpt-image-1): roughly $0.02–$0.19 per image depending on quality — a typical 6–10 draft session runs about $0.40–$2. Prices change; check openai.com/pricing before relying on them.
AI covers are excellent for drafts, comps, and budget self-publishing. Check every word of rendered text letter by letter (AI still misspells), and confirm your distributor's current policy on AI-generated art before you upload. When the book warrants checked typography and a paperback wrap built to its final page count, see the $299 finished-cover service.
Disclosure: Amazon KDP requires you to disclose AI-generated content (including cover art) when you upload — it's a checkbox, not a penalty, but skipping it violates their terms. Copyright: under current U.S. Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated images generally can't be copyright-registered — meaning others could reuse a fully AI cover. Human-authored modifications and human-designed typography strengthen your claim. Both are good arguments for finishing an AI draft with human hands.
Your prompts, typeset.
Tip: generate the front first, approve it, then send the back-cover prompt in the same conversation — that's how you keep one design language across the wrap. For KDP, the back prompt already reserves the barcode zone.
Like the AI draft? Let a human finish it.
Human-finished ebook front + paperback wrap — $299: Darius may use ChatGPT tools for draft imagery, then handles typography, layout, print setup, and his own quality check. One trim size, one final formatted page count, and one correction round are included; back-cover copy is separately quoted.
